The value for money at Retreat Villa was unbeatable and the rooms were incredibly comfortable and full of character. The location was perfect, within walking distance of the town centre and Skypark, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
The breakfast selection could use some improvement, with a greater variety of options.

I recently stayed at The Retreat in Carlingford for a few days. The lovely warm house had comfortable and warm bedrooms, thanks to the great heating system. The shabby chic decor and roses added a charming touch, while the cream painted floors and beautiful rugs created a cozy atmosphere. The beds were comfy and warm, and the black out curtains ensured a good night's sleep. The 2 bathrooms and attic room were perfect for our needs. The walled garden was ideal for our dogs. The location in Carlingford village was excellent, making it easy to explore the area.
Would recommend this hotel.

The house felt secure, and the freshly laundered towels and spacious rooms added to our comfort. The kitchen was well-equipped for cooking, with all the necessary appliances in good working order. The location of the hotel was perfect, within walking distance of shops and pubs. The outdoor walled garden was a nice touch and added to the experience. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, providing a cozy atmosphere during our Christmas stay. The heating system worked well, keeping us warm throughout our stay.
The lack of clear instructions for using appliances and managing the heating system was a bit frustrating. It would have been helpful to have a booklet or guide to reference.

We had an amazing time staying at this wonderful house in the heart of a charming village. The location was perfect, with pubs and shops within walking distance. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, and we appreciated the lovely decor and cozy atmosphere. The house provided all the amenities we needed, including a well-equipped kitchen. We especially enjoyed the walled garden, which was ideal for our little dogs to play in.
Some of the lightbulbs needed to be replaced and the windows could have been cleaner.

During our Christmas stay, we were pleased with a couple of aspects of the hotel. the location was fantastic, allowing us to easily explore the nearby attractions and enjoy the festive atmosphere. Additionally, the house was warm and comfortable, providing a cozy environment during the chilly winter days. Lastly, we appreciated the spacious bedrooms, offering plenty of room for relaxation and a good night's sleep.
There were a few aspects that we were not entirely satisfied with. This was especially concerning for us, as one of our party members had lung cancer.

The location of The Retreat in Carlingford was absolutely fantastic. Being able to easily walk into town and not having to move our cars was such a convenience. Plus, there were plenty of parking spaces available on the street. The house itself had a nice layout with plenty of living space for our group of nine. Anna Marie, the host, was always responsive and helpful.
Although there were a few minor drawbacks, such as the need for some updates and a deep clean, overall, our stay at The Retreat in Carlingford was enjoyable. The house had great potential and with a little TLC, it could truly shine.

We had the most amazing romantic escape in a beautiful cottage. The location was absolutely stunning, with breathtaking views all around. The cottage itself was well-maintained and clean, making our stay extremely comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised by the helpfulness of the owner, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable. We felt right at home and would definitely recommend this place to anyone seeking a romantic getaway.
The third room did not have the four single beds as advertised. There were only three beds and a camp bed, which was uncomfortable and broken.
